Information Services at the RCDC

The Bibliographic Database

The database RCDCbib is a comprehensive information source for radiation chemistry. Emphasis is on kinetic and other properties of transient radicals and excited states. In 1977 the scope was enlarged to include quantitative photochemistry. Over the years the relative volume of photochemistry related literature in the database has increased substantially. The chart below approximately reflects both this growth (from about 14,000 references in 1970 to about 140,000 as we enter 1995) and the change in composition (blue is radiation chemistry, yellow - photochemistry/photophysics) of RCDCbib over time.

SUBJECT COVERAGE: Includes radiation chemistry and photochemistry related information on:

* radicals * transients * excited states * theory * luminescence * environmental applications * esr spectra * biological applications * optical spectra * industrial applications * photophysical processes * polymers and polymerization * solution kinetics * solar energy conversion *

SIZE: 139,192 references as of January 1995

INCLUSIVE DATES: 1966 to present, with some earlier citations

UPDATE FREQUENCY: Biweekly

RCDC Online

The online information resources of the data center are currently being revamped for access via the world wide web. Current users of the telnet-based online services will continue to have access to the center databases. The bibliographic database will be ported first, with the RATES (kinetic data for radical processes in aqueous solution) and TTAS (absorption spectral data for the triplet state) converted next.
